The Next Generation of Changemakers: The Young Professionals Council

Cancer doesn’t just affect a person’s health — it impacts every aspect of daily life. Between mounting medical bills and everyday expenses like rent, groceries, transportation, and utilities, families are often forced to make impossible financial decisions while navigating treatment.

As the need for support continues to grow, so does the need for the next generation of cancer advocates. This is where Family Reach’s Young Professionals Council comes in.

The Family Reach Young Professionals Council is designed for passionate, purpose-driven professionals in their 20s and 30s who want to make a meaningful impact while building genuine connections. Through fundraising, networking, volunteer opportunities, and advocacy, members become part of a community dedicated to easing the financial burden of cancer for families across the country.

Because cancer is hard enough.

A Community with Purpose

Today’s young professionals are looking for more than another networking event. They want opportunities to connect with like-minded people, support causes they care about, and make a tangible impact in their communities.

The Family Reach Young Professionals Council brings those goals together. Members collaborate throughout the year to plan engaging fundraising events, connect Family Reach with new supporters, advocate for our mission, and serve as ambassadors within their personal and professional networks. Whether it’s hosting a pickleball tournament, organizing a happy hour fundraiser, securing corporate sponsors, or volunteering at Family Reach events, every effort helps provide financial relief to families navigating the overwhelming costs of cancer.

Along the way, members gain valuable leadership experience, expand their professional network, and become part of a community united by compassion and action.

Why become a Young Professional?

There has never been a more important time to get involved in the future of cancer care. Every year, the demand for support continues to grow, and we want reach as many families as possible.

As Family Reach celebrates 30 years of helping families facing cancer afford the everyday essentials they need to stay in treatment this year, we’re also looking ahead with our boldest vision yet: raising $30 million to deliver 300,000 financial interventions that help families keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, and transportation to lifesaving care.

And we have an important role to play in making that vision a reality.

By joining the Family Reach Young Professionals Council, you’ll become part of a growing community of advocates, fundraisers, and emerging leaders who are helping ensure that financial hardship doesn’t become another side effect of cancer. Whether you’re organizing an event, introducing Family Reach to your network, volunteering your time, or making a personal gift, every action helps bring us closer to a future where no family has to choose between paying for treatment and paying for basic needs.

We’ve accomplished so much in the past three decades, and we hope you’ll help shape what’s next.
