Who Are We?
The Family Reach Young Professionals Council is a group of highly accomplished and motivated Boston-based professionals in our 20s and 30s who passionately seek opportunities to be of service to our community.
Some members have a personal connection to Family Reach, others have been touched by the heartbreak of a cancer diagnosis of a friend or family member, and are familiar with the devastating financial-toxicity that accompanies the disease. Still others of us are simply motivated to link arms and help combat the financial hardship on families fighting cancer.
We believe in making a difference together, and in having fun in the process. We’d love to see you at our upcoming events, so please check back regularly for updates!

Having worked in the education non-profit world for many years, she wanted to find an exciting and innovative organization in a different sector where she could use her skills to directly help those in need through volunteering. The Young Professionals Council of Family Reach does just that - they are directly supporting the families affected by cancer by raising awareness and funds through fundraising events and our own networking efforts. And the added bonus is that she has met a group of amazing, like-minded people who are voluntarily giving of themselves to this amazing cause.

When her dad was diagnosed with cancer, he would often say that he felt lucky because of the financial position he was in - he didn't have a young family to support and was able to focus solely on getting treatment. She didn't fully understand his outlook until she found Family Reach while looking for some motivation to run the Disney Marathon and began to understand the impact that the financial burden of cancer can have on a young family that is already reeling from an unexpected cancer diagnosis. She decided to join the Young Professionals board in order to help the Family Reach team spread awareness about Cancer Related Financial Toxicity and raise critical funds to address this growing issue.
Alicia heard about this organization through a friend and when she spent time learning about cancer related financial toxicity and how it impacts health outcomes, she was shocked by the correlation. Being involved through the Family Reach Young Professionals group has been a great way for her to do what she can to help families lessen their financial burden in order to spend time on what is most important.

Andrea currently works as Event Manager at The Castle Group, a third party event planning company that has been working with Family Reach for years. When her CEO relayed that Family Reach was starting a Young Leaders council, she was thrilled for the opportunity to get involved with such a wonderful organization. She has a background in non-profits and was looking for an opportunity to widen my network of young professionals in Boston looking to make a difference in their community. Family Reach is an organization full of dedicated employees and volunteers with huge hearts and incredible drive—and she is honored to be a part of their mission.
Amy is involved with Family Reach because it is an incredible organization with great people who care about helping others during their time of need.
