Iron Chef Ming Tsai to Lead Star-Studded Chef Lineup at Family Reach’s Cooking Live Boston Sponsored by Bank of America

Chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Toru Oga, Jamie Mammano, Ken Oringer, and Joanne Chang Join One-Night Culinary Event Supporting Families Facing the Financial Side Effects of Cancer

BOSTON, MA – OCT. 15  Family Reach, a national nonprofit helping families facing cancer overcome the financial side effects, today announced the celebrated chef lineup for Cooking Live Boston, its signature culinary fundraising event taking place Monday, October 19, 2026, at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Leading the evening is Iron Chef Ming Tsai, longtime Family Reach champion, joined by an extraordinary lineup of culinary talent including Chef Masaharu Morimoto with Chef Toru Oga, Chef Ken Oringer, Chef Jamie Mammano, Chef Paolo Gama and Chef Joanne Chang.

The one-night-only experience brings together world-class chefs, philanthropists, business leaders, and members of the Boston community for an unforgettable evening of food and purpose in support of families facing cancer.

“Food brings people together, but this evening is about something much bigger,” said Ming Tsai, Iron Chef and Family Reach Board Member. “Cancer affects an entire family, and the financial side effects can be overwhelming. Cooking Live gives us an opportunity to come together, have an incredible night, and make a real difference for families who should be able to focus on healing—not whether they can afford groceries, housing, transportation, or other basic needs.”

Now in its 30th anniversary year, Family Reach is shining a national spotlight on the financial side effects of cancer. A cancer diagnosis can create financial challenges that extend far beyond medical bills, including lost income, food insecurity, housing instability, transportation costs, utility bills, and other essential expenses.

Through its Financial Resource Center, Family Reach provides financial support, education, and resource navigation to help families maintain stability during cancer treatment.

“Families should not have to navigate the added stress of choosing between life saving treatment and the basic necessities of everyday life,” said Carla Tardif, CEO of Family Reach. “Cooking Live Boston brings together an extraordinary community of chefs and supporters to help us change that.  We are honored to have this incredible lineup of chefs and donors coming together to achieve lasting impact.”

Guests at Cooking Live Boston will enjoy a cocktail reception featuring expertly crafted hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails, followed by an interactive dining experience where the chefs will cook, plate, and serve courses directly for guests.

The evening will also feature stories from families supported by Family Reach, offering guests an opportunity to hear firsthand why addressing the financial side effects of cancer is an essential part of supporting families throughout treatment.

Cooking Live Boston is part of Family Reach’s 30th anniversary year, celebrating three decades of helping families navigate the financial challenges that accompany cancer.
