My role at Family Reach is: Marketing Coordinator – which basically means my responsibilities fall under all things marketing and communication, although my background in writing means I (happily) focus on a lot of copy-related matters.
Family Reach inspires me because: While several of my family members and close friends have been touched by cancer during my lifetime, I was either too young or too far removed from the day-to-day to truly grasp the financial burdens of the disease. Now that I’m aware, I want to make sure families know that this support network exists. There is so much momentum moving this organization forward, and I’m eager to use my skills to participate in such important work.
The most unusual thing I’ve done for my job is: ‘Twas my third day at Family Reach and there I was watching my boss jog back and forth in the alleyway behind the office. The reason was valid – we were testing the camera settings to take pictures of runners in preparation for capturing moments at an upcoming marathon. Sounds really weird out of context, though, huh?
When I’m not at Family Reach you can find me: Visiting the latest exhibit at the MFA or ICA, traveling to a new place (near or far), trying a new restaurant or recipe, creating a handmade greeting card, or reading a book on my balcony while sipping on black tea – with milk if it’s hot, lemon if it’s cold!
Most people don’t know that: I can read Hebrew!
If I could spend time with one person, past or present, it would be: Just one?! That’s difficult, but I’m going to go with Michelle Obama. She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s power, she’s intelligence, she’s womanhood, she’s so darn inspirational I can barely handle it. Fingers crossed I would get over the star-struck feelings quickly enough to actually take advantage of the opportunity to spend time with her.
One item I’d like to check off my bucket list: Travel to every continent! (I might let Antarctica slide, though.)
