Night of Wonder in Boston Raised Awareness About the Financial Side of Cancer
On September 28, 2019, guests ventured to the Boston Children’s Museum to attend Family Reach’s Night of Wonder event. The evening was creatively designed to immerse guests in Family Reach’s mission through nostalgic surprises and child-like activities – the bubble room was in full swing!
There was a VIP hour to kick off the night, which featured an exclusive dish prepared by our National Advisory Board President, Chef Ming Tsai. After grabbing a drink at the open bar, guests ventured around the museum to five journey stops where they learned about Cancer-Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT) and Family Reach’s innovative solutions.
These stops included competitions for Reach Athletes, a bar in the elevator for our LiFT Network, thought-provoking games in the Financial Treatment Program room, a jungle-gym to climb on, delicious mini tacos and tequila tastings, and of course a dance floor and candy bar to keep the energy high throughout the night.
Seeing community members, new and old alike, come together to show their support and desire to do more created a one-of-a-kind atmosphere inside a children’s museum. Guests learned first-hand how Family Reach is making a tangible difference and Phil, dad to cancer-hero Grant, brought the mission to life when he shared the story of his family’s cancer journey.
Hearts were opened. Drinks were flowing. Laughs were shared. And most importantly, funds and awareness were raised for families facing the financial barriers of cancer.
