Family Reach is fueled by many talented and dedicated individuals who work behind the scenes to move our mission forward. As we learn more about the breadth and depth of cancer-related financial toxicity, and what it will take to meet immediate needs and eventually solve the problem, we need an army of devoted individuals to get us there.

Our National Advisory Board is made up of passionate and dedicated entrepreneurs focused on strategy and innovation. To best utilize each member’s expertise and experience, we created specialized committees that allow board members to increase their impact on our mission. The following committees make up our advisory board: Awareness, Strategy, Healthcare, Affiliate, Ecosystem, Events and Peer to Peer.

I am proud to introduce to you the five new members of our National Advisory Board!

With gratitude,

Carla Tardif, Family Reach CEO

Joel W. Beetsch

Celgene has been a valued corporate partner of Family Reach for many years. Joel Beetsch currently holds the position of Vice President of Global Patient Advocacy within the Celgene Corporate Affairs Department. In this position, Dr. Beetsch leads the global development and execution of a coordinated patient-focused advocacy strategy to foster safe and effective solutions to healthcare challenges. He has been an invaluable thought partner, connector and donor to me and Family Reach. Joel will play a critical role in our strategic plan moving forward, given the critical role the healthcare industry has played in our astounding growth.

Mario Muredda

Mario Muredda, President of Harrison & Star in NYC, has been working with me for the past eight years. He took a chance on Family Reach when we were just a two-person organization. As an early adopter to our mission, Mario brought in his creative team to help define our messaging, create our image and navigate our constantly changing communication plan to keep up with our astounding growth. Most recently, Mario brought the idea of the Imagine session to Family Reach. He has led us down a path that allows us to bring tangible solutions to this daunting issue of Cancer-Related Financial Toxicity (CRFT).

Tim Moore

Tim Moore, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in Washington DC, has helped us unlock the potential of an exciting direction to work with other like-minded non profits. Tim’s collaborative spirit and ability to identify organizations’ individual strengths, have created the grounds for us to build our national Family Reach Affiliate Program. These connections and national network of organizations prove that we are stronger together.

Wendy Spivak

Wendy Spivak is the principal and founder of The Castle Group, a national PR, digital and creative agency. I have called on Wendy for her support since my first day of working with Family Reach! Wendy joined our Board of Directors eight years ago and is now lending her expertise to the National Advisory Board to assist with event management. She has been an incredible asset in helping to create, execute and elevate our events across the country to raise much needed funds and awareness for Family Reach.

Esther Tetreault

Esther Tetreault is the owner and cofounder of Trillium Brewing Company, along with her husband JC.  After meeting Esther through National Advisory Board President Ming Tsai, I was struck by her sincere passion to have an immediate impact on families fighting cancer. She brought Family Reach to her Trillium’s Philanthropy Board. We instantly received full buy-in and the launch of some really fun Reach Athlete events. By combining her love for fitness, beer and fundraising, Esther uses Trillium’s broad reach and strong community to host events and spread awareness about the financial burden that accompanies a cancer diagnosis.
