Jevon was diagnosed with leukemia after persistent swollen glands revealed an underlying cancer diagnosis in 2014 at just 12 years old. With his single mom, Janet, by his side, Jevon set out on the road to recovery.
On May 8, we hosted our sixth annual Cooking Live! Boston fundraiser at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston. Celebrity chef and Family Reach National Advisory Board President Ming Tsai was joined by renowned chefs Steve DiFillippo (Davio’s), Jamie Bissonnette (Coppa, Toro and Little Donkey) and Robert Bruce (The Ritz-Carlton, Boston).
Instead of attending high school in the fall of 2016, 14-year-old Jessica entered the world of doctors’ appointments and chemotherapy treatments. Before being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, she spent her days dancing competitively, playing violin and doing typical teen activities, all while maintaining a successful academic record.
In the winter of 2014, at just six years old, Gavin was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Before his diagnosis, both mom and dad worked full time and were living comfortably in Connecticut with Gavin and his younger sister.
