During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re honoring Olivia, whose bright, bubbly personality touched so many. Olivia was 11 years old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of acute myeloid leukemia in February 2016.

Then & Now: Weronika’s journey

At 8 years old, Weronika was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was in and out of Lurie Children’s Hospital for the next year, managing the disease and receiving frequent transfusions.

Pediatric cancer: A 13 year old’s perspective

My name is Kya, and I’m a 13 year old from Brooklyn, New York. In the fall of 2014, I started fifth grade and discovered I was going to be a big sister. Soon after that exciting news, I began to experience consistent pain in my thigh.
